This is a great post but I would like to add a few other annoying things to avoid as a web designer which are
1. Unclear content
2. Over colorizing
3. Complicated navigation

Another big annoyance for me is the auto-loading videos of some guy rattling off marketing speak on many sites. Nothing makes me hit the back button more quickly. Flash intros and annoying “are you sure you want to leave?” popups are also top of my list.

I agree with the part about background music, for some sites it can be alright, but these are mostly personal portfolios or something similar. If I am on a site that is playing background music that restarts everytime I load a new page, I find it quite annoying.
